Quality Assurance Officer

JOB OPENING

LOCATION Rotselaar (Belgium)
HOURS Full-time
CONTRACT Permanent

Do you walk into an audit with confidence because the file is in order? Do you want not just to safeguard a quality system, but to make it live on the shop floor? Then we are looking for you.

About us

Eurocap and Eurocork together form a dynamic, family-owned SME specialised in the production and sale of closures: cork stoppers, crown corks, wirehoods, lids and more. Our customers are in the beverage and food industries — from local breweries and distilleries to international bottling companies, winemakers, soft-drink producers and non-alcoholic beverage companies. They all have one thing in common: they rely on products that meet specification exactly and are delivered on time.

Your challenge

To support our growth we are looking for a quality assurance officer who will take our quality system in hand. Our customers expect products that meet specification exactly — and they expect us to be able to prove it. That is your responsibility: you maintain the FSSC system, you keep the documentation and the product specifications in order, and you make sure quality lives on the shop floor and not only on paper. You report directly to the managing director and work closely with production, sales and R&D.

Your responsibilities

Quality system & audits

  • You are responsible for the quality system (FSSC) within the organisation: you maintain it, keep it current and safeguard its application.
  • You prepare and guide internal and external audits, and follow up the findings until they are closed.
  • You handle the administrative follow-up of all quality-related documents.
  • You describe processes and work out improvements together with the colleagues who run them.

Product specifications & customer files

  • You draw up product specifications in English and keep them up to date, tailored to the requirements of each application.
  • You answer customer quality questions and questionnaires and supply the necessary declarations and certificates.
  • You follow the applicable legislation — including the rules on materials intended to come into contact with food — and translate changes into our documentation and our practice.
  • You maintain the supplier documentation and assess it for completeness and conformity.

Controls, analyses & complaints

  • You carry out product controls, tests and analyses, and report the results.
  • You handle complaints: you investigate the cause, report back to the customer and make sure structural measures follow to prevent recurrence.
  • You track the quality indicators and flag it in good time when a process starts to drift.
  • You make sure hygiene and cleanliness on the shop floor meet the requirements of the food sector.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who works accurately and is at the same time firm enough to defend quality when the pressure is on.

  • Quality systems: You have knowledge of quality systems (BRC, IFS, FSSC, …).
  • Education: You hold a bachelor's degree in a scientific or applied-scientific field, or are equivalent through experience in a quality role.
  • Experience: Experience in a comparable role is a plus.
  • Accuracy: You work accurately and in a structured way, and you do not leave a file half finished.
  • Independence: You work independently and show initiative.
  • Stress resistance: You stay calm when an audit, a complaint and a specification land on your desk at the same time.
  • Commitment: You are dynamic and involved, and you bring colleagues along in what quality asks of them.
  • Hygiene & accuracy: You work extremely cleanly and in a structured way. You understand that hygiene is of the utmost importance in our sector.
  • IT: You have very good IT skills and work comfortably with document management, ERP and reporting systems.
  • Languages: A very good command of Dutch and English is essential — you draw up specifications in English. French is a plus.

What we offer

  • Variety: A rewarding job with varied challenges in a family-owned SME.
  • Ownership: You take the quality system fully in hand.
  • Short decision lines: You report directly to the managing director. Decisions are made quickly.
  • Growth: The chance to grow with the organisation and work actively on your personal development.
  • Remuneration: A competitive salary with additional benefits.
  • Accessibility: An easily accessible location.
